A body discovered in the prairie of Springbrook Prairie Forest Preserve appears to be that of a 46-year-old mother of 5 from Naperville who has been missing since late last month. At approximately 1:55pm Thursday, Naperville Police Officers were called to a trailhead at the southwest corner of Springbrook Prairie Forest Preserve, near the intersection of 83rd Street and Chandelle Drive, for the report of a dead body discovered in the prairie. A 28-year-old Aurora man was killed early Sunday morning when he apparently lost control of his motorcycle near Washington Junior High School in Naperville and crashed into a small retaining wall. At approximately 1:52am Sunday, the Naperville Police and Fire Departments responded to the intersection of Washington Street and School Street for a report of a vehicle crash involving a motorcycle where they found a blue 2022 Yamaha motorcycle on its side with heavy damage. At approximately 6:08am Sunday, Aurora Police officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 500 block of Station Boulevard where they found two male victims near the basketball court, both suffering from gunshot wounds. A 23-year-old Aurora woman has been sentenced to 4 years in prison after pleading guilty to killing a man in a car crash while she was intoxicated. On January 23, Darci L. Klomhaus pled guilty to the offense of Aggravated Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, a Class 2 felony. Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie L. A private aircraft experiencing mechanical difficulties was forced to land at The Highlands of Elgin golf course Wednesday evening. According to the Elgin Police Department, at approximately 8:20pm Wednesday evening, the Federal Aviation Administration notified the department that a small private plane was preparing to make an emergency landing at the Highlands of Elgin golf course in Elgin due to mechanical issues. In a freak accident, a 49-year-old Minnesota woman was struck and killed by a vehicle in the parking lot of Wahlburgers in St. Charles last week. The tragedy occurred just prior to a 5th anniversary celebration of Wahlburgers’ opening at the location.
