Paramount Theatre in Aurora has announced the special guest for its annual fundraising gala and concert, to be held at 8pm on October 12 at the theatre. Matthew Morrison, a versatile actor who is recognized for his work on-stage and on-screen, has been nominated for Tony, Emmy and Golden Globe Awards. Morrison’s most recent Broadway credit is starring as “J.M Barrie” in the musical Finding Neverland through January, 2016.  The Broadway production is an adaptation of the 2004 film written by David Magee. UPDATE: The Kendall County Coroner has determined that a victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds as a result of the shots fired in the 3800 block of Pratt Court in Plano. The victim, identified as 70-year-old Russell Novak, died as a result of his wounds. Illinois State Police are investigating a fatal officer-involved shooting yesterday evening on the southeast side of Aurora. According to a press release from the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office, just before 6:45pm Friday evening deputies with the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office responded to assist the Plano Police Department with a report of shots fired in the 3800 block of Pratt Street in Plano. An 18-year-old man received a sentence of 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to murdering an Oswego man in 2022. Yesterday, Kendall County State’s Attorney Eric Weis announced that Brian Bell, Jr., of DeKalb entered a plea of guilty to First Degree Murder and was sentenced to 20 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections by Judge Jody Gleason. Due to changes in the law and Bell’s age at the time of the murder, Bell was subject to different sentencing provisions than most adults in murder cases. An Elgin man is in custody after a domestic incident apparently resulted in violence and a gunshot. On Sunday morning at 1:21am, Elgin police were notified by the Streamwood Police Department that an adult female reported to them that she was involved in a domestic-related incident in Elgin, where a firearm was possibly discharged. Elgin officers responded to the residence of the suspect in the 600 block of South Street where the alleged incident occurred, and upon arrival located evidence that confirmed that a firearm had been discharged. According to a news releasde, the Aurora Police Department is investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash on the city’s southeast side that left a 43-year-old Aurora man dead early Saturday morning. At approximately 5:19am, the Aurora Police Department and Aurora Fire Department were dispatched to the intersection of Ogden Avenue and South Farnsworth Avenue following a collision between a grey 2000 Honda Civic and a black 2003 Infiniti FX45. A 54-year-old Naperville woman was killed when the bicycle she was riding was struck by a Jeep Wrangler on Naperville’s north side Saturday morning. According to a Naperville news release, at 10:21am Saturday Naperville Police Department and Naperville Fire Department personnel were dispatched to the intersection of West Ogden Avenue and Royal Saint George Drive for a traffic accident, where they found an unconscious female who appeared to have suffered a serious head injury as a result of the accident. A North Aurora man has received a sentence of eight years in prison as part of a plea deal related to an alcohol-influenced accident which resulted in the death of a motocyclist in Batavia last year. This morning, Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie L. Mosser announced that 40-year-old Luis Aca Osorio agreed to the sentence in exchange for a guilty plea to the offense of aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol – causing death, a Class 2 felony. A Dundee man has been charged with a wide range of felonies after allegedly breaking into the St. Charles Public Works facility and stealing a utility truck, and then allegedly stealing another car and setting in on fire. According to a St. Charles news release, on Wednesday at approximately 9:45pm a St. Charles Police Officer located a damaged and dislodged security gate at the St. Charles Public Works facility at 1405 South 7th Street.
