A 32-year-old Aurora man has accepted a plea deal of 13 years in prison for “Involuntary Servitude” involving the effective enslavement of women for prostitution. Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie L. Mosser announced today that Jamar R. Hare has agreed to a sentence of 13 years of imprisonment in the Illinois Department of Corrections in exchange for a guilty plea to six counts of Involuntary Servitude, a class X felony. One person was killed and one injured when a vehicle struck two pedestrians in downtown West Chicago Saturday afternoon. At approximately 1:32 pm, West Chicago Officers responded to the intersection of Main Street and Washington Street for a report of two pedestrians struck by a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, officers observed the two victims in the roadway with injuries. West Chicago Fire Protection District paramedics responded and transported both victims to area hospitals where one died from their injuries. A 27-year-old Montgomery man pleaded guilty this week to murder related to a 2022 gang-related shooting in Aurora. Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie L. Mosser announced yesterday that Alonzo Sanchez pleaded guilty to first-degree murder (a class M felony), and accepted a sentence of 25 years in prison. On the afternoon of September 24, 2022, a white sedan driven by Sanchez pulled up to the 300 block of Center Avenue in Aurora along with co-defendant Samuel Garcia, who exited the passenger seat brandishing a silver revolver. According to a post on its Chicago Facebook page, the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) is seeking assistance in identifying a suspect involved in the November 8 armed bank robbery at US Bank in St. Charles. The FBI also posted photos of the suspect from surveillance cameras at the bank. The photos show a masked man in a camouflage hoodie and Chicago Bears baseball cap holding a handgun. After a tip from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency, on Saturday Naperville police arrested a Chicago man suspected of smuggling methamphetamine from California via Amtrak. Two Aurora men are in customer and facing felony charges after Aurora Police officers responded to an alarm activation early Friday morning and discovered damage to two businesses along South Eola Road. At approximately 2:13am Friday, Aurora Police were dispatched to a business alarm in the 2300 block of South Eola Road. Although the alarm company later attempted to cancel the response, units continued to the location to confirm the property’s security. A US Bank facility on the east side of St. Charles was robbed by an armed offender Saturday around noon, according to a release by the St. Charles Police Department. According to the release, at approximately 12:05pm Saturday, officers responded to the US Bank, located at 135 Smith Road, for a report of an armed robbery which had just occurred. Officers were quickly on-scene and learned the offender was last seen leaving the bank on foot. A thorough search of the area was conducted, but the offender was not located. Two men were found suffering from gunshot wounds on Aurora’s east side late Friday evening. At approximately 11:43pm Friday, Aurora Police officers responded to a report of two people shot in the 200 block of Sout Fourth Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered two male victims, ages 19 and 20, suffering from gunshot wounds. Aurora Fire Department paramedics arrived on scene and transported the men to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries and are currently in stable condition. A 24-year-old man is dead and his 23-year-old female companion hospitalized after both were ejected from their car after hitting a tree Wednesday evening. According to police, at approximately 11:21pm Wednesday Aurora police officers and firefighters responded to the 600 block of Spruce Street after receiving a 911 call reporting that a vehicle had struck a tree. Officers located two occupants — a man and a woman — who had been ejected from the vehicle. Aurora Fire Department paramedics immediately began treatment at the scene.
