According to a statement, Elgin police are investigating an act of public indecency – and possible battery – that allegedly occurred midday Wednesday in Lord’s Park. On Wednesday at approximately 1:26 p.m., officers responded to the Lord’s Park pavilion for a report of a male subject who was exposing himself. Officers met with the female victim who stated that at approximately 12:15 p.m. while in the park walking, a male white subject made contact with her on her shoulder and then proceeded to expose himself. Update: ISP reports that 32-year-old Thomas Dobosz, who was one of the drivers in the fiery crash on I-90 near Hampshire on Sunday, has died from his wounds. This past weekend saw four incidents of gunfire in four days in the City of Elgin. No injuries were reported, but some property damage was found in one of the incidents. Last year, Elgin set a record with 66 gunfire incidents. While the trend to date suggests a slight reduction by the end of the year (at the current rate, there would be 62 such incidents by year-end), the sound of gunfire is all too common in the city. West Suburban Irish will be putting on their second annual Naperville Irish Fest this weekend. On Friday and Saturday, Aug. 5-6, there will be live music, Irish cultural activities, Irish dancing, Hurling and Camogie demonstrations, children’s activities and more during the family-friendly festival at the Frontier Sports Complex, 3880 Cedar Glade Road in Naperville. The use of RSCs combine a strong sense of public awareness and enforcement in order to save lives of the motoring public.
