Approximately 100 beagles rescued from an abusive puppy mill in Virginia were successfully placed in foster homes yesterday by Anderson Humane, the South Elgin-based animal welfare advocate and shelter. According to a post on its social media account, Anderson reported that Tuesday morning at around midnight the beagle transport arrived from Virginia. Each crate was carried into the South Elgin shelter one by one. The puppies got to stretch their legs and take a potty break outside. Each animal got new, clean crates and a snack before dinner. A 26-year-old Aurora man faces murder and sexual assault charges in the stabbing death of 17-year-old Aurora woman Lizbeth Muro. According to Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie Mosser, during the morning of Aug. 4, 2022, the accused stabbed the victim, 17-year-old Lizbeth Muro, twice in the chest, killing her. Update, 8/9 7:19 am: Multiple media outlets are reporting this morning that the raid on former President Trump’s Mar-A-Lago estate was related to a complaint from the National Archives, the agency charged with collecting and sorting presidential material, and that at least 15 boxes of White House records were recovered from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort – including some that contained classified information. Trump’s attorneys have been working with the FBI to determine what documents exist at Mar-A-Lago and whether they are subject to the claims of the National Archives.
