This family-friendly festival will feature carnival rides, live music, food, craft show, bingo, a pie-contest, tractor pull, and the ever-popular mud volleyball. DuPage County State’s Attorney Bob Berlin seems to be making a statement: DuPage County will aggressively enforce gun laws using whatever means available. In the last month or so, Berlin’s office has secured criminal charges and obtained “denied bail” verdicts for seven convicted felons caught by police allegedly with loaded weapons in their possession. The most recent incident occurred last Thursday, when Naperville police pulled over a vehicle with tinted windows for allegedly failing to signal when changing lanes. Judge John A. Barsanti has found Shadwick R. King guilty of the offense of first-degree murder for killing his wife, 32-year-old Kathleen King, in July 2014. A jury in March 2015 had found King guilty of first-degree murder in Kathleen King’s death, and a judge sentenced him to 30 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. However, the Illinois Appellate Court Second District, citing concerns with an expert witness, nullified the jury’s guilty verdict and ordered a new trial. Early this morning a driver being pulled over for speeding in Aurora Township suddenly hit the gas, turned off his lights, and led police on a scary chase that nearly ended in tragedy. A Montgomery man has been found guilty by a Kane County jury of murdering the boyfriend of the mother of his children during a high-speed car chase in October 2020. 32-year-old Chuckie E. Chatman had been upset that 40-year-old Ernest Hardy was dating the mother of his children, and had made threats against the woman. On October 16, 2020, Chatman went to the woman’s residence on Best Place in Aurora, but she refused to let him inside. The woman called Hardy, who drove to her residence.
