According to a statement, Elgin police are investigating an act of public indecency – and possible battery – that allegedly occurred midday Wednesday in Lord’s Park.

On Wednesday at approximately 1:26 p.m., officers responded to the Lord’s Park pavilion for a report of a male subject who was exposing himself. Officers met with the female victim who stated that at approximately 12:15 p.m. while in the park walking, a male white subject made contact with her on her shoulder and then proceeded to expose himself.

The male subject is described as 25-30 years of age, approximately 5’9”, skinny build, blond hair and blue eyes, no facial hair, wearing a yellow tie-dye shirt, and dark colored athletic pants. The subject was also in possession of an unknown-colored mountain bike.

Detectives are currently investigating the incident. If you have information that may assist, please call 847-289-2600 or to text a tip, send a message to 847411. Please include “ELGINPD” in the beginning of the text along with the message and/or tip information.
