In a freak accident, a 49-year-old Minnesota woman was struck and killed by a vehicle in the parking lot of Wahlburgers in St. Charles last week. The tragedy occurred just prior to a 5th anniversary celebration of Wahlburgers’ opening at the location. A 10-year-old Montgomery boy was tragically killed Thursday when he was hit by a car while crossing Route 30 in Montgomery. According to police, at around 8:00pm Thursday a vehicle traveling westbound on Route 30 struck the child who was crossing the street (northbound) from a local business in the 1900 block of Baseline in Montgomery. The child, identified as Vincente Poban, age 10, was transported to Rush Copley Hospital and, shortly after arrival, airlifted to Loyola Hospital in critical condition. A mysterious shower of bricks falling from the exterior of a building in downtown Aurora resulted in the evacuation of occupants and the closure of East Galena Boulevard between Broadway and Lincoln Avenue. The Aurora Police Department and the Aurora Fire Department were called to 104 East Galena Boulevard yesterday to investigate bricks falling from the side of the building onto the sidewalk and street. Residents from 102 and 104 East Galena Boulevard were evacuated as emergency responders worked to assess the structure. Lord, was sentenced to seven years in prison in exchange for a guilty plea to the offenses of Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding a Peace Officer, a Class 3 felony, and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, a Class A misdemeanor. A 39-year-old St. Charles woman is in custody after allegedly stabbing another woman on St. Charles’ west side Tuesday evening. At approximately 7:50pm Tuesday, the St. Charles police officers was dispatched to an apartment building in the 100 block of Walnut Drive for a report of a person who had been stabbed. Officers were met by the suspect, who told them that she had just stabbed another woman.
