Kane County Sheriff Ron Hain points to the lack of transitional housing as a major obstacle to preventing recidivism. The program, which is proposed for a building located at 131 W. A 26-year-old man is in hospital after being shot on Naperville’s far west side Thursday afternoon. At approximately 1:36pm Thursday, Naperville police officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Inland Circle where they located a twenty-six-year-old male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Naperville Fire Department personnel arrived on scene and transported the victim to a local hospital. The offender, who police believe knows the victim, is believed to have fled the area. A 32-year-old Chicago man has been found guilty in a 2022 shooting in Aurora that paralyzed his victim. On Thursday, Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie L. Mosser announced that a jury has found Byron Frazier guilty of Attempt first-degree murder, a Class X felony; Aggravated battery with a firearm, a Class X felony; Armed violence, a Class X felony; and Armed habitual criminal, a Class X felony.
