For a second straight day, Elgin’s Larkin High School received a bogus social media threat, and for a second straight day the culprit was identifed and arrested. On Monday, an 18-year-old student was arrested and charged with a Class 4 felony in relation to a threat made against the school. On Tuesday at 7:12am, the School Resource Officer along with Larkin High School Staff investigated a second school threat at Larkin High School. An Oswego teenager is dead after the vehicle he was driving caught fire after hitting a tree in unincorporated Oswego Friday evening. The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident which occurred at approximately 8:51pm Friday evening on Minkler Road near the intersection with Reservation Road. The preliminary investigation indicated that a vehicle driven by 17-year-old Sean Fader of Oswego was traveling southbound on Minkler Road when the car left the roadway, striking a tree and catching fire.
