The City of Aurora will celebrate the 158th anniversary of Memorial Day during the 2026 Aurora Memorial Day Parade, which will step off at the intersection of Benton Street and River Street at 10am on Monday, May 25. Longtime community member and U.S. Marine Corps veteran, James “Jim” Butler, will serve as the Parade’s Grand Marshal. Butler joined the Marine Corps in 1959, serving in Okinawa, Japan, with the 3rd Recon Battalion.
