Wahlburgers, the popular hamburger joint in St. Charles partially owned by St. Charles resident Donnie Wahlberg, will play host to Donnie and the rest of his band New Kids On The Block this Saturday at 10:00am. NKOTB are in the Chicago area for two performances at the AllState Arena in Rosemont, Friday and Saturday evenings. St. Charles Mayor Lora Vitek will emcee the event. (Tyesha Bell) During the early morning hours of May 9, 2003, 22-year-old Tyesha Bell left her Aurora apartment to meet meet her boyfriend and father of her daughter. Bell lived in the apartment with her sister and almost 2-year-old daughter. The child was not at home that evening. Bell left behind her ID and a burning candle. Bell was not seen or heard from again, and the cause of her disappearance remained a mystery for more than 17 years. Early Wednesday afternoon, an Elgin man was killed when his Toyota Camry struck a semi truck on Route 31 north of McLean Blvd. in unincorporated St. Charles. At approximately 2:00pm the South Elgin and Countryside Fire Protection District was dispatched to a report of a traffic crash with injuries on Rt. 31 north of McLean Blvd. in unincorporated St Charles Township. On Thursday morning at approximately 9:00 AM, Kane County Sheriff’s Court Operations Detectives attempted to serve a court ordered eviction on a residence in the 0-100 block of N. Weston Ave, Elgin. The occupants refused to open the door and when detectives advised they needed to enter to execute the eviction order, an occupant insinuated they were arming themselves with a rifle. On April 4, 2019, Jose Charles of Elgin sold heroin to 25-year-old Trevor Brubaker of St. Charles. Later, Brubaker was found dead in the bathroom of his home, a victim of fentanyl intoxication. As a result of a plea deal, Charles, who has multiple drug-related convictions dating back to 2012, has now been sentenced to 9 years in prison for drug-induced homicide. During the evening of January 10, 2021, Brian Clemente and his girlfriend were at their Aurora home with their two young children. Clemente was intoxicated and angry, having learned that his girlfriend was romantically involved with someone else. He repeatedly asked her if he was the father of their 2-month-old daughter. His girlfriend then went to bed. Clemente then took the infant from her bedroom and severely beat and kicked her, causing significant injuries.
