On Saturday evening, a woman who had jumped off the bridge into the east channel of the Fox River in Aurora was saved by the Aurora Fire Department Water Rescue Team. At approximately 8:44pm, AFD received a call for a person in the Fox River. Upon arrival, fire crews found the victim in the east channel, near the casino, yelling for help. Several bystanders in the area saw the woman jump off a bridge and called 911. Aurora Central dispatched a Water Rescue Response bringing the Water Rescue Team and 26 firefighters to the scene. A 31-year-old Streamwood man is dead after crashing his motorcycle into a tree in unincorporated St. Charles Sunday evening. On the afternoon of November 29, 2020, 16-year-old Christian Capuchino of Aurora and a co-defendant fired dozens of gunshots at a defenseless victim in East Aurora. The victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds, and 49 shell casings were recovered from the scene by Aurora police. The combination of temperatures in the upper 90s and extreme humidity will result in heat indices well over 100 degrees, with the most oppressive heat peaking Tuesday evening. The Geneva Chamber of Commerce has chosen 18-year-old Mari Landwehr as its 2022 Swedish Days Parade Marshal. “I am very proud to be the parade marshal this year for the parade in my hometown,” Landwehr stated. Landwehr has lived in Geneva all her eighteen years.  She has been involved with Special Olympics and Fox Valley Special Recreation since 2012 with rhythmic gymnastics.
