Breaking: The City of Aurora has refused to reverse it’s decision to revoke the permit for the Aurora PRIDE Parade after a hearing this morning. Aurora PRIDE has tweeted that a federal lawsuit is being filed “in short order.” According to multiple reports, the American Civil Liberties Union will ask a federal judge to overturn the ruling of the administrative judge who today upheld the City of Aurora’s revocation of the permit required to hold the parade. According to a poll commissioned by political action committee (PAC) People Who Play by the Rules, whose head, Dan Proft, supports Sen. Darren Bailey, R-Xenia, Aurora mayor Richard Irvin has fallen to second place in the GOP gubernatorial primary. The poll shows Bailey taking the lead at 27%, with Irvin at 20% and venture capitalist Jesse Sullivan at 13%. 24% remain undecided. The City of St. Charles is reporting that there is a water main break on IL Rt. 31 at the entrance of the Mt. Saint Mary Park parking lot. To complete repair work, the City announced the need to close the south bound lane of IL Rt. 31 and the Mt. Saint Mary parking lot tomorrow and Friday at these times: Thursday 6.9.22 from 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. Friday 6.10.22 from 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. There will be traffic delays due to the closure so consider taking an alternate route.

According to the City of Aurora and Aurora PRIDE, the city has revoked the permit for the Aurora PRIDE Parade due to insufficient security personnel. A special hearing on the situation is scheduled for 9:00am tomorrow in Aurora. The St. Charles City Council on Monday approved a residential development located on a 27-acre site on the north side of Smith Road at Pheasant Run Trl. The development, Springs at St. Charles, includes 320 apartment units within 16 two-story buildings.  Wisconsin-based Continental Properties is the developer. In a somewhat rare occurrence, the council was deadlocked 4-4, requiring Mayor Lora Vitek to cast the deciding vote.
