Two men are in hospital in stable condition this morning after having been stabbing yesterday evening in Aurora. At approximately 11pm yesterday evening, Aurora police officers and detectives reported finding two men stabbed in the 300 block of Titsworth Court on the city’s East Side. The men were rushed to the hospital where they were reported in stable condition. APD is investigating the incident, and requests anyone with information to please call APD Investigations at 630-256-5500.

An as yet unidentified man was found in his trailer in unincorporated Aurora riddled with bullets, and was eventually pronounced dead after attempts to revive him failed. At about 1:20am this morning, Kane County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 800 block of Hill Ave in unincorporated Aurora for a report of shots fired.  Upon arrival, the deputies found an adult male with multiple gunshot wounds inside of a residential trailer. Deputies applied first aid until paramedics with the Aurora Township Fire Department arrived. The male was transported to Copley Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Following on the heels of South Elgin’s announcement this week that its 4th of July parade has been cancelled due to “lack of participation,” the City of Aurora has followed suit, citing the same reason. The parade will be replaced by a “4th of July Procession” comprised of a parade of public safety vehicles and a Heroes’ Trolley of local veterans. The Procession begins at 10 a.m. at Phillips Park and will travel throughout the city.  First held in 2020, the procession model was necessary during the start of the pandemic and was well-received by the community. Citing “significantly diminished participation numbers,” the Village of South Elgin has cancelled its annual 4th of July parade. According to an announcement on its Facebook page, only 26 total participants registered for this year’s parade, compared with 60-80 in prior years. “The Village Board of Trustees and Village President considered the impact of a 10-minute parade, the efforts by residents and guests to gather for a mini-parade, the re-routing of Spring Street traffic, the police and emergency management staffing required, and chose by consensus to alter this year’s plan.” Village staff contacted previous parade participants directly and discovered a variety…
