Following an extensive investigation by the Illinois State Police Kendall County Police Assistance Team (KCPAT), a 28-year-old Aurora man was arrested for multiple drug-related felony offenses on Monday. On Monday, KCPAT Officers executed a search warrant at the suspect’s residence in the 900 block of Rural Street in Aurora. Officers recovered a firearm, seized over 120 grams of cocaine, over 2,000 grams of illegal cannabis and cannabis products, and suspected MDMA pills. A man is in critical condition after being shot early this morning on Aurora’s west side. At approximately 3:24am, Aurora police officers responded to a report of shots fired in the area of River Street and Sard Avenue. In addition to multiple 911 calls, a ShotSpotter alert indicated gunfire in the area. Responding officers located an adult male on the Gilman Trail with a lower body gunshot wound. The Batavia Police Department has issued a request for the public’s assistance in identifying the vehicle and/or driver implicated in a hit-and-run early this morning which resulted in injuries to the victim. A 27-year-old Elgin man was killed last Wednesday when his motorcycle was struck by an SUV in St. Charles. The driver of the SUV allegedly left the scene of the accident before authorities could arrive. According to the Aurora Fire Department, approximately 30 gallons of concentrated bleach was accidently spilled on Aurora’s northeast side this morning. At around 10:25am, firefighters responded to a hazardous materials incident in the 2700 block of Beverly Drive involving a punctured container of concentrated bleach inside a semi-trailer. Approximately 30 gallons leaked, with some entering nearby storm drains. Fire crews quickly contained the spill and recovered the material from catch basins.
