A 22-year-old Wheaton woman has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for her role in the savage murder of an 18-year-old West Chicago man in 2018. A 32-year-old Aurora man is dead after he lost control of his vehicle on Route 59 early Sunday morning and slammed into a light pole. According to a release from the Aurora Police Department, the crash occurred on Sunday morning at approximately 3:45am near the intersection of Illinois Route 59 and Meridian Parkway. A Wheeling man has been arrested in connection with a shooting incident in Elgin Sunday afternoon that sent a man to hospital. On Sunday at 1:16pm, Elgin police officers responded to the 400 block of Summit Street for a reported shooting where they located an adult male who had sustained a serious injury. A 63-year-old Aurora man has been convicted of killing his ex-girlfriend in Saginaw, Michigan, after an alcohol-infused drive of nearly 300 miles during Memorial Day weekend last year. At approximately 8:00pm Sunday, officers responded to the St. Charles Mini Mart located at 710 South 3rd Street for the report of an armed robbery which had just occurred.
