A doctor who practiced in Yorkville has been sentenced to 37 in prison for sexually abusing his minor patient and sometime employee over a nine-month period at both his office and home. Kendall County State’s Attorney Eric Weis announced that Edgar Archbold of Yorkville was sentenced to a total of 37 years in prison for seven counts of Criminal Sexual Assault earlier this month after a contested sentencing hearing in front of Judge Jody Gleason. A Kane County Sheriff’s deputy was cleared Friday of any wrongdoing in the shooting death of an armed suspect during an incident in July 2024. On Friday, Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie L. Mosser concluded her review of an investigation into the officer-involved death of 18-year-old Tyquaze Nicolas that occurred on July 8, 2024. Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie L. Mosser and Geneva Chief of Police Eric Passarelli announced Thursday that Judge Julia Yetter has granted the State’s motion to detain pre-trial a Geneva man accused of stabbing his girlfriend and her son last December.  The suspect appeared in court Tuesday for a pretrial detention hearing charged with four counts of first-degree murder, a class M felony. A 24-year-old Chicago man pleaded guilty Tuesday to sexually assaulting a disabled woman at Marklund Home in Geneva in 2023. Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie L. Mosser announces that Isaiah Fields has pleaded guilty to the offense of aggravated criminal sexual assault, a Class X felony. Judge John A. Four Geneva police officers were honored by the City Council Monday evening for their successful efforts to save the life of a distraught woman last October. Geneva Police Chief Eric Passarelli presented Life Saving Medals to the officers at the meeting. Sgt. An Aurora man has been sentenced to 13 years in prison for drugging and then sexually assaulting a woman whom he knew. Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie Mosser announced yesterday that Judge Bianca Camargo sentenced Ricardo Lemos, who had been convicted in October 2024 of criminal sexual assault, a class 1 felony, to 13 years of imprisonment in the Illinois Department of Corrections. Batavia police are actively searching for a suspect believed to have robbed a Speedway gas station at gunpoint early Monday morning. At approximately 1:37am Monday, Batavia police officers were dispatched to the Speedway gas station located at 1495 East Wilson Street for a report of an armed robbery that had just occurred. A Mongomery man is in custody after allegedly firing a gun into the air on New Year’s Eve. According to police, just after midnight on January 1 the Montgomery Police Department responded to a report of shots fired on the Village’s east side in the 1300 block of Raymond Drive, where they located shell casings and live ammunition outside of a residence with multiple occupants.
