A 36-year-old Elgin man was sentenced to 14 years in prison for selling fentanyl to two individuals who subsequently died in overdoses. McHenry County State’s Attorney Randi Freese announced that, on Wednesday, Jarrail Ford-Gresham was sentenced to seven years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on each of two counts of Drug-Induced Homicide after pleading guilty to both charges. The sentences must be served consecutively, resulting in a total sentence of 14 years in prison. Ford-Gresham is also required to serve 75 percent of his sentence. A 30-year-old Bloomingdale man was seriously injured early Wednesday morning when he apparently lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a brick mailbox on Route 25 in Geneva. According to police, a preliminary investigation indicated that the man was driving northbound on Route 25 when his vehicle exited the roadway off the east side and struck a brick mailbox, a parked vehicle in a driveway, and a utility pole. Two Aurora men were hospitalized Saturday evening after being struck by gunfire during a gathering on the city’s east side. According to police, at approximately 11:55pm Saturday Aurora Police officers responded to the 200 block of North Loucks Street for reports of two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. Responding officers located two mean, 29 and 35, respectively, both suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers immediately rendered aid and both victims were transported by Aurora Fire Department paramedics to a local hospital, where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries. A 27-year-old woman from Pingree Grove was fatally struck by a vehicle while riding her bicycle in Hampshire early Monday morning in an apparent hit-and-run. According to police, at approximately 12:40am Monday officers from the Hampshire Police Department were dispatched to the area of U.S. Route 20, between Big Timber Road and Gast Road, for a report of a traffic crash involving a bicyclist. The initial caller reported observing vehicle debris in the roadway and an individual lying in the road. A McHenry man has seen sentenced to 96 years in prison after being convicted of fatally shooting a man and seriously injuring another during a road rage incident in Elgin in 2020. Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie L. Mosser announced last week that Judge John Barsanti sentenced Dru K. Jarvis to 96 years of imprisonment in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
