According to multiple reports, two people were killed in a fiery crash on I-88 near Aurora just after midnight Wednesday. Two vehicles were involved in the crash, which happened at around 12:45am this morning. The incident occurred near Eola road, which was subsequently closed for nearly 5 hours. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene after one the vehicles caught on fire. Illinois State Police are investigating the incident.
A 29-year-old Aurora man has been charged with murder and kidnapping, among other felonies, after crashing his vehicle into another vehicle on I-94 Friday evening. The accused has been charged with three counts of First-Degree Murder (a Class M Felony), Aggravated Battery – Deadly Weapon Not a Firearm (a Class 3 Felony), Kidnapping (a Class 2 Felony), and Unlawful Restraint (a Class 4 Felony). A 22-year-old Sugar Grove man has been charged with multiple felony DUI charges after allegedly causing a fatal 4-vehicle crash on IL-71 Saturday evening. According to the Illinois State Police, at approximately 9:15pm on Saturday ISP Troopers responded to a crash on IL-71 just past Walker Road, south of Millbrook. The accused was driving a pickup truck southbound on IL-71 and allegedly entered the northbound lanes to pass multiple vehicles. The truck struck an SUV head-on causing a four-vehicle crash. A 36-year-old Sleepy Hollow man pleaded guilty Friday to beating a 61-year-old Lake in the Hills man after his motorcycle group forced the victim off the road and proceeded to assault him. McHenry County State’s Attorney Randi L. Freese announced that Julio C. Salas entered a blind plea of guilty to one count of Aggravated Battery in a Public Place, a class 3 felony. A DeKalb man and a Naperville woman allegedly broke into a Naperville home Monday afternoon, pepper-spraying the resident and killing his three-year-old dog. According to police, at approximately 1:15pm Monday, DuPage County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 30W000 block of Capistrano Court for a reported home invasion. Upon arrival, deputies learned that the resident had allegedly been pepper sprayed inside his apartment and that his three-year-old dog had been fatally shot during the incident. Two people sustained non-life-threatening injuries Monday morning when a driver apparently had a medical issue and lost control of his vehicle, causing a multi-vehicle accident on Route 34 in Oswego. According to police, at approximately 11:21am, Oswego Police were dispatched to a multi-vehicle crash near the intersection of Route 34 and Orchard Road. The body of a man discovered in the Fox River Thursday has been identified as and Elgin man who was reported missing by family members on June 30. The Kane County Coroner’s office issued a statement identifying the man as Victor Marin, age 41. An autopsy was performed and the preliminary cause of death was determined to be drowning. Results of toxicology tests remain pending. In what is becoming an all-too-common occurrence, another body has been found in the Fox River, this time in Elgin.
