A 44-year-old chiropractor from Batavia has pleaded guilty to two counts of producing and disseminating sexually abusive material after an investigation discovered him videotaping patients, including children, undressing in his office.
On February 20, a Kane County grand jury indicted David L. Hanson on 66 counts of producing and disseminating child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and ten counts of Unauthorized Video Recording. Sixteen of the counts charged Hanson with disseminating CSAM depicting victims from his own chiropractic office.
Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie L. Mosser announced yesterday that Hanson pled guilty to 1 count of Producing Child Sexual Abuse Material, a Class X felony and 1 count of Disseminating Child Sexual Abuse Material, a Class X felony (indictment count #33).
Judge D.J. Tegeler accepted the plea and set Hanson’s next court appearance for November 10, 2026, for a sentencing hearing.
Hanson was arrested last November following an investigation by the Batavia Police Department and the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office’s Child Exploitation Unit. According to prosecutors, the investigation revealed that Hanson had secretly videotaped patients, including children, as they undressed in his office. He then disseminated some of the videos online.
Hanson was also found to have possessed and disseminated CSAM not connected to his chiropractic office. The investigation determined that Hanson acted alone.
Hanson remains in custody at the Kendall County Jail.
