JB Pritzker on Tuesday signed House Bill 3062, which requires that people who file lawsuits in state courts challenging the constitutionality of a state law, administrative rule or executive order will now have to file those cases in either Sangamon or Cook counties. The ever-popular Strawberry Festival returns this weekend at Windy Acres Farm in Geneva. Swedish Days brings thousands of people to Geneva to enjoy food, music and plenty of fun for people of all ages each summer. It also brings significant traffic congestion. The Geneva Police Department has announced that parking restrictions will be implemented to accommodate this signature event, and two downtown streets will be closed throughout the festivities from Wednesday to Sunday, June 21-25. A Plano man was struck and killed by an Amtrak train this morning near the intersection of Hale Street and Main Street. According to a press release from the Plano Police Department, at approximately 8:39 a.m. this morning officers responded to the railroad crossing near the intersection of Hale St. and Main St. for a report of an individual who was struck by an Amtrak train. The officers found an adult male subject with life threatening injuries. After speaking with multiple witnesses, it was determined that the male walked in front of the train on his own accord. The Fox Valley Antiques Show has been around for decades. 65 years, in fact. But for this, its 66th year, things are a little different. The Chicago Suburban Antiques Dealers Association, which produces the annual show, has changed venues from Kane County Fairgrounds to the Dupage County Fairgrounds in Wheaton, renaming the event “The First Annual Fox Valley At the Fairgrounds Anitques Show.” While the venue has changed, the offerings on tap remain intriguing. 45 dealers from 10 states will gather under one roof to present the best of Americana.
