It’s that time of year, again.
The time for family vacations and lazy summer afternoons is coming to a close for the nine public school districts in Kane County.
Here’s a list of the first day back to school for most students for the 2024-2025 school year:
- Batavia Public School District 101: August 14
- Central Unit School District 301: August 21
- Community Unit School District 300: August 13
- East Aurora School District 131: August 21
- Elgin School District U-46: August 13
- Geneva Community Unit School District 304: August 22
- Kaneland Community Unit School District 302: August 14
- St. Charles Community Unit School District 303: August 14
- West Aurora School District 129: August 19
As Shakespeare wrote, “Summer’s lease hath all too short a date.” (Shakespeare is a guy with whom some of you you will, hopefully, become acquainted this fall.) But there are two consolations.
First, the Cubs and White Sox seasons will soon come to a merciful end. Second, glorious football is right around the corner. Go Bears!
