A man was shot and killed in Streamwood Friday evening, according to reports from the Streamwood police. The 31-year-old victim, Kwemi Hardwick, was found dead Friday evening in a Streamwood home on North Victory Lane. Police indicated that he died of multiple gunshot wounds. A suspect, identified as an acquaintance of Hardwick’s, is in custody. The death remains under investigation by Streamwood police and the Major Case Assistance Team. Police said they believe the shooting is an isolated event and there is no further threat to the public.

Former Kane County Cougars player and current Detroit Tiger Miguel Cabrera joined an elite Major League Baseball fraternity yesterday, garnering his 3,000th career hit with a groundball through the right side in his first at-bat in Detroit. On the morning of June 10, 2017, Rodolfo Rocha was outside a Grove Street home with friends and family. At some point that morning, 29 year-old Anthony Medina, and 27 year-old Martin Garcia, Jr., approached the gathering and told them to declare a gang affiliation. When they replied that they were not gang members, Medina and Garcia pulled out guns and shot Rocha, killing him. During the incident Medina shot Garcia in the abdomen, and struck Rocha’s car.
