Mark A. Hampton of Oswego was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment on four counts of predatory criminal sexual abuse of a child, authorities announced today. A Kane County jury found Hampton guilty of the offense in October.  Hampton’s sentence was handed down by Kane County Judge Donald M. Is The Fox Valley next? Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot announced Tuesday that diners will be required to show proof of vaccination in order to eat or drink at Chicago’s bars and restaurants. The move comes in response to the most recent wave of COVID cases hitting Illinois. Cities such as New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, and New Orleans already have such mitigation procedures in place. A man was trapped inside his vehicle, extricated and airlifted to a nearby hospital following a violent traffic collision on Kautz Road Tuesday morning. Just before noon on Tuesday, a glass transport truck apparently collided with a semi-tractor trailer while both were travelling southbound on Kautz Avenue near Ohio Ave. When personnel from the St. Charles Police and Fire Departments arrived on the scene, they found the driver of the glass transport truck injured and trapped inside his vehicle. On Monday evening, a Yorkville police officer shot and killed a man being treated by EMS personnel in his home after allegedly becoming “uncooperative” and brandishing a gun. At approximately 8:37pm Monday evening, Bristol Kendall EMS and Yorkville police responded to a residence in the 200 block of Leisure Street in Yorkville regarding a medical call. A homeless man was arrested today for the alleged armed robbery of the Dollar Store on Rt. 59 in Naperville Thursday morning. The Aurora Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation after a man was shot and killed on the city’s east side early Saturday morning.
