A car crash Friday evening in Sugar Grove took the life of one passenger and injured three more. According to the Sugar Grove police, the crash occurred about 6:25 p.m. Friday when a 2019 Ford Fusion traveling northbound on Route 47 collided with a southbound 2012 Chevrolet Cruze at the intersection with Cross Street. A 76-year-old Montgomery woman who was the front-seat passenger in the Fusion was taken from the scene to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead. St. Charles to consider similar scheme – report. Vaccine “passport” requirements imposed my Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot and President of the Cook County Board Teri Preckwinkle go into effect today in Chicago and suburban Chicago. The requirements were announced in late December. The new rules require anyone entering bars and restaurants, plus gyms, stadiums and other entertainment and recreation venues where food and drinks are served, to provide proof of vaccination. Two men are in custody for Wednesday’s shooting incident in Elgin which resulted in two men being hospitalized for their wounds. The shooting occurred Wednesday evening in the 0-100 block of Hill Avenue. Officers arrived on scene and located two subjects with injuries who were subsequently transported to area hospitals. A vehicle that was seen leaving the scene was located moments after the shooting. Officers were able to conduct a traffic stop, and several subjects were taken into custody as evidence was located that connected the occupants of the vehicle to the shooting. The first major snowstorm of the season hit the Fox Valley Saturday afternoon and evening, and the results were significantly less than predicted. As of 6:00am Sunday morning, the National Weather Service reported that snowfalls around the Fox Valley were pretty pedestrian, with St. Charles coming in at 2.8″ accumulation and Aurora at 1.5″. Significant snowfall ended overnight. The NWS had predicted accumulations anywhere from 4″- 9″, and perhaps higher if lake effect snow reached the area from the east. An allegedly suicidal Chicago man was arrested Thursday after an hours-long stand-off during which he shot a gun into the air and Naperville police helped rescue a woman fleeing his apartment. On December 30, at approximately 7:38 p.m., Naperville police officers responded to a 911 call in the 1800 block of Michigan Avenue. Forecasts indicate that the region will likely see 5″-6″ of snowfall during this period, with the heaviest period being Saturday afternoon and into the evening. There is a possibility, however, of snow arriving in the later hour of New Year’s Eve, creating difficult travel conditions for New Year’s revelers.
