4 FOR THE WEEKEND
where Aaron Rodgers doesn’t own US.
So let’s get to it, starting with…..
Let’s Start With Some Culture…
We admit, we love the Halloween season.
Loads of fun for the kiddies, multiple party opportunities for the adults, no pressure, just candy.
It’s pure kitsch. Pure American.
But a little culture never hurts now and again.
And this weekend, the Elgin Theatre Company provides that opportunity with its staging of A Doll’s House, Part 2.
Written as something of a sequel to Ibsens’ classic, this play will leave you thinking – which is pretty much what you ask of art.

Moving On…To A Nightmare
(Notice we didn’t say anything so plebian as “movies?”)
The art of movie-making is celebrated this weekend at the Charlestowne 18 Cinemas (notice they, too, call it something other than “movies”).
The second annual Afterimage Film Festival will focus on films (no movie!) from the world’s most prestigious film festivals including Sundance, SXSW, Berlin, Telluride, Cannes and more.
And you can’t get any more hi-brow than that.

And Finally…A Smorgasbord of Scare
Seriously, the Fox Valley has some of the best (or worst, depending on your level of dementia) haunted houses in the state.
Pretty much all the genres are represented – prison riot, haunted forests, insane asylum breakout, the works.
So we put them all in one place for your masochistic convenience.
We’ll just stick with the big blow-up Snoopy in the yard…

Your weekly weekend weather looks pretty good if you like fall, at least for Friday and Saturday. Dry and cool, with highs in the mid-50s and lows in the low-40s. Sunday looks to be a pretty raw day, so, as ever, plan accordingly.
If, for whatever reason, none of our fabulous four events doesn’t pop your cork, we’ll be very insulted. However, all hope is not lost. Simply go to www.foxvalleymagazine.com and check out our A+E and Events sections for other ideas.
Finally, please do us a favor. We would be eternally grateful if you could share this with some of your unsuspecting family, friends and neighbors. We’d also appreciate some love on our Facebook page (see below). Ok, technically it’s a “LIKE,” but don’t be pedantic. Also, that’s actually two favors. We’ll owe you.
Thanks for reading. Until next time…OH! One more thing. If you’re reading this via the website and would like to have this emailed to you bright and early every Friday morning, please SUBSCRIBE!
