    Elgin Police Department Responds To Gunfire Incident



    No injuries or property damage were discovered as Elgin police responded to a shots fired incident in the city’s near east side.

    At approximately 11:39 p.m., officers responded to the 800 block of Martin for a report of shots fired.

    Evidence of gunfire was located, but no injuries or property damage have been reported at this time.

    This is the 50th gunfire incident in Elgin this year. The record for such incidents, 64, was set in 2016.
