A 51-year-old Des Plaines man was sentenced to 20 years in jail after pleading guilty to drug charges earlier this year. In May, Andrew M. Guca pled guilty to the offense of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver, a Class X felony. According to prosecutors, on June 6, 2023, Guca was the driver of a vehicle stopped by an Aurora police officer. Police searched the vehicle and located a bag in the rear cargo area containing approximately 4,000 grams of cocaine with a street value of between $120,000 to $144,000. Authorities have identified a man who was killed Sunday morning in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash on Fabyan Parkway on Geneva’s far west side. The Kane County Coroner’s Office has identified the man as 40-year-old Eric Gardner of Sycamore. Geneva Police, the Kane County Sheriff’s Office, and the Geneva and Batavia fire departments responded to the crash, which was discovered at 6:37am by passing motorists. A 28-year-old Oswego woman has been sentenced to 30 years in prison after she pleaded guilty to murdering her friend in February 2023. Kendall County State’s Attorney Eric Weis announced that Alexia Telles was sentenced, pursuant to plea agreement, to 30 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for First Degree Murder by Judge Jody Gleason last week. Telles was arrested and charged back in February of 2023, after she arrived at a residence in Oswego with her girlfriend, Annissa Ellen-Williams, suffering from a traumatic wound to the head. The drowning death of of a 27-year-old man at Naperville’s Centennial Beach is being investigated by Naperville police. On Thursday at approximately 5:43 p.m., police were dispatched to Centennial Beach, located at 500 Jackson Avenue, for a report of a missing person who was last seen in the deep end of the pool.  About 15 minutes later, lifeguards recovered an unresponsive man from the water. A Yorkville man was seriously injured Thursday after his motorcycle crashed into a Honda CRV at the intersection of Route 34 and Orchard Road in Oswego. At approximately 12:42pm Thursday, Oswego Police responded to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Route 34 and Orchard Road involving a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a Honda CRV. The 19-year-old motorcyclist sustained a major head injury and other unknown injuries. He was initially transported to Rush Copley and later airlifted to Loyola Hospital due to the severity of his injuries. His current condition is unknown. A former DuPage county corrections deputy has been found guilty of sexual misconduct with a female inmate. DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin announced yesterday that Judge Joseph Bugos has found a former DuPage County Deputy Sheriff assigned to the Corrections Bureau guilty of having inappropriate sexual contact with a female prisoner. Judge Bugos returned his verdict in the case against Ricardo Hardy, 54, of Elgin, yesterday morning following a bench trial on June 11. A 26-year-old Hinckley man is dead after he was found at the bottom of a ramp on US 30 with his motorcycle on its side Sunday afternoon. At approximately 3:31pm, Sugar Grove police and fire personnel responded to the intersection of US 30 and Route 47 in Sugar Grove for a report of an accident with injuries, where they discovered the man at the bottom of the eastbound ramp of US 30 onto southbound Route 47 with his motorcycle on its side. Kendall County Sheriff’s officers and members of the US Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force tracked down and arrested an Aurora man facing multiple felony charges in Kendall County. The 35-year-old suspect was apprehended Wednesday in unincorporated Montgomery. Deputies from the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office responded on June 8 after receiving a report of an individual found inside a residence in the 0–100 block of Cypress Drive in unincorporated Bristol Township.
