Changes are coming for Tri-City motorists as the Bliss/Main/Fabyan Intersection Reconstruction Improvement Project kicks off on Monday, August 21. ​The project consists of a new road alignment, roundabout construction, roadway widening, resurfacing, lighting, drainage, and landscape restoration for Bliss Road, Main Street Road and Fabyan Parkway just west of Randall Road. The project will increase safety and traffic flow operations through the intersection. The anticipated completion date for the project is November 2023, weather permitting. A suspect remains at large today after a PNC Bank branch at 850 Summit Street in Elgin was robbed yesterday afternoon. At approximately 1:45pm Tuesday afternoon, agents responded to a bank robbery at the PNC Bank located at 850 Summit Street, Elgin. (According to federal law, the FBI has jurisdiction in all bank robbery cases.) According to an FBI report, the agents discovered that a lone male suspect had entered the bank and demanded money, implying that he was armed. A note was also displayed. Actor, construction worker, semi truck driver, entrepreneur. That’s how Rocky Lopez described himself on his Facebook page. His story, chronicled for years through posts and videos on the social media platform, touched hundreds if not thousands of people throughout the Fox Valley area. Lopez, 53, died Wednesday evening when the motorcyle he was riding in West Dundee collided with a white Lexus, driven by a 61-year-old woman from unincorporated Dundee. Two adult males and a juvenile male were hospitalized early Sunday morning after suffering gunshot wounds at a party in Elgin. At approximately 1:22 a.m. Sunday morning, Elgin police officers were called to the 1300 block of Inverness Drive for a reported shooting. Officers found two male adults and one male juvenile with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. The victims were subsequently transported to area hospitals. The preliminary investigation shows that there was a large party where an altercation occurred where shots were fired, causing the injuries. The Village of Montgomery will host the 38th Montgomery Fest from Friday to Sunday, August 18-20, 2023. The Fest will be held in downtown Montgomery along the Fox River in Montgomery Park (301 N. Bond was set at $100,000 with 10% to apply for a Naperville man accused of soliticiting sex from a 12-year-old girl visa text messaging. The man, 19, is in the United States on a student visa. Judge McPherson also ordered him to surrender his passport as a condition of bond.
