A 36-year-old man was struck and killed in West Chicago Monday by a man police allege was driving under the influence of alcohol. DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin and West Chicago Chief of Police Colin Fleury announced Tuesday that Judge Joshua Dieden denied the State’s motion to detain pre-trial a West Chicago man charged with two counts of Aggravated DUI Causing Death, a Class 2 Felony. A 22-year-old Naperville man is in hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds sustained in a shooting Tuesday in residential Naperville. According the Naperville police, at approximately 1:30pm officers were dispatched to a residence in the 2500 block of Leach Drive for the report of a gunshot victim. Police and Fire personnel arrived on scene and located a victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital with what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries. After the shooting, the offenders reportedly fled on foot in an unknown direction.
