A Montgomery man is dead after driving his SUV off Jericho Road in Sugar Grove Township and hitting a tree. At approximately 9:45pm Sunday evening, Kane County Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the 41W200 block of Jericho Road in Sugar Grove Township to find a silver Jeep Grand Cherokee facing eastbound in the ditch on Jericho Road. The vehicle had considerable visible damage, and the single occupant of the vehicle had significant head injuries. Preliminary investigation shows that the Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by 76-year-old Lawrence Hagemeyer of Montgomery, was eastbound on Jericho Road and left the roadway for unknown reasons.…

A 57-year-old Naperville man is dead after the car he was travelling in left the road and hit a tree Sunday morning. According to Naperville police, at approximately 6:15am Sunday, police and fire personnel responded to a single-vehicle crash involving injuries near the intersection of Naper Boulevard and Bayhill Avenue. The preliminary investigation indicates that the silver 2004 Nissan driven by a 62-year-old male from Naperville was northbound on Naper Boulevard approaching Bayhill Avenue when it left the roadway, striking a tree. According to the National Weather Service, the Fox Valley is likely to experiece 2″-5″ of snow accumulation overnight Monday, with the heaviest snowfall coming just as the Tuesday morning commute begins. On the positive side, it appears that the Fox Valley will be spared a heavy “Round 2” that is expected to involve even higher rates of snowfall Tuesday afternoon. The greatest impact of this wave will be to the west and north, including Dekalb County and the Rockford area. The National Weather Service is forecasting a major snowstorm to hit the Fox Valley beginning Monday evening and potentially lasting through Wednesday. Two rounds of wintry weather are poised to move through Monday night through Wednesday morning. The first round (Monday night through Tuesday morning) will impact the Fox Valley with wet, accumulating snow. Current expectations are for between 1″-3″ during this period. An Elgin man has been indicted for the brutal murder of his infant son in 2021. Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie L. Mosser and Elgin Chief of Police Ana Lalley announced that a grand jury has indicted the 23-year-old man for the offenses of First-degree murder (8 counts) and Aggravated battery, Class X felony (19 counts). According to the grand jury, on March 8, 2021, the defendant inflicted injuries on his infant son, including blunt-force head trauma, causing the chid’s death.
