An off-duty Kane County Sheriff’s deputy was involved in a fatal shooting Monday afternoon, according to the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office. According the state’s attorney, the shooting occured in Elgin just after 4:30pm near the intersection of Walnut Avenue and National Street. The state’s attorney announced in a press release that the Kane County Major Crimes Task Force is conducting the investigation. “Investigators want to ensure all facts of the case remain intact during this crucial investigation, and updates to the public will be provided when possible,” the release stated. Three teenagers are in hospital with serious injuries, some life-threatening, after losing control of the car they were riding in and crashing violently into a tree near Hampshire. A 65-year-old Elgin man is in custody after having been charged with murder in the stabbing death of a woman at his home Wednesday. Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie L. Mosser and Elgin Chief of Police Ana Z. Lalley announced today that the accused is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, a Class M felony. Naperville police are investigating the stabbing death of a woman in the tony Naperville neighborhood of White Eagle Saturday. Police were dispatched Saturday morning to a home in the 2500 block of Saddlebrook Drive where they discovered an adult female suffering from several apparent stab wounds. The Naperville Fire Department responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
