A Chicago man is in custody after allegedly being found with 100 grams of Fentanyl in his vehicle. That amount of Fentanyl could produce approximately 50,000 fatal doses. On Tuesday afternoon at around 2:25 p.m., the Kane County Special Investigation Unit (SIU) spotted a silver Nissan SUV on I-88 near Dauberman Road in Elburn, exhibiting several lane violations. The Illinois Department of Natural Resources has temporarily shut down recreational boating on the Fox River, according to a letter posted by the IDNR today. A Bartlett man who was previously found guilty but mentally ill in the stabbing death of his elderly mother has been sentenced to 27 years in prison. Edward Mitzelfeld, 69, formerly of the 700 block of Bryn Mawr Avenue in Bartlett, was found guilty but mentally insane of five counts of First Degree Murder, and has remained in custody at the DuPage County Jail since that time.
