A 15-year-old Naperville student has been identified as one of the deceased following an avalanche in Switzerland Monday. Aleksas Beiga, a freshman at Naperville Central High School, was on spring break when he died during an April 1 avalanche near a ski resort in Zermatt, Switzerland. Alexas was the son of former Lithuainian Olymipic swimmer Nerijus Beiga, and is also survived by his mother Sonata, his sister Eva, his grandmothers Marija and Birute, and his uncles Edvinas, Marius and Gediminas. A Bolingbrook man was arrested Wednesday evening on allegations that he dealt cocaine in the Naperville area. Naperville Police, with assistance from the DuPage Metropolitan Enforcement Group, arrested the 27-year-old following a month-long investigation into alleged cocaine sales in the Naperville area. The arrest took place shortly after 7:30pm Wednesday evening in a parking lot in the 6000 block of Illinois Route 53 in Woodridge. The suspect, of the 300 block of Whitewater Drive, Bolingbrook, has been charged with two counts of Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance (one Class X felony and one Class 1 felony).

A 33-year-old man who entered the US illegally from Mexico only two weeks ago has been charged with the murder of his wife in Carol Stream. DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin and Carol Stream Chief of Police Don Cummings announced Thursday that Judge Joshua Dieden has granted the State’s motion to deny pre-trial release for the man, who was officially charged with five counts of First Degree Murder. Joseph J. Charron, 68, a former monk and teacher at Marmion Academy, has agreed to a sentence of 30 months probation and 180 days of imprisonment in exchange for a guilty plea to the offense of aggravated battery, a Class 3 Felony.
