The City of Aurora will celebrate the 157th anniversary of Memorial Day during the 2025 Aurora Memorial Day Parade, which will step off at the intersection of Benton Street and River Street at 10am on Monday, May 26. Longtime community member and U.S. Army veteran, Arlen Peterson, will serve as the Parade’s Grand Marshal. Peterson has lived in Aurora for over 60 years, and served in Germany as a member of the U.S. Army from 1954-1955. Moore answered a 911 call reporting a woman who was unresponsive and not breathing.
