In what was clearly the biggest upset in the history of Northern Illinois football, the Huskies went into South Bend this afternoon and upset 5th-ranked Notre Dame 16-14. The margin of victory came on a Kanon Woodill 35-yard field goal with 31 seconds on the clock. Northern (2-0) had previously been 0-14 against top 10 teams. The American Red Cross is facing an emergency blood shortage as it experiences the lowest number of people giving blood in the last 20 years. A 43-year-old St. Charles man is in custody after police found him in possession of multiple types of illicit drugs and a massive cache of illegal guns, along with 5000 rounds of ammunition. According to prosecutors, on Monday the defendant was found with more than 200 grams of a substance containing psilocybin, a hallucinogenic obtained from certain types of mushrooms; more than 2,000 grams but less than 5,000 grams of a substance containing cannabis; less than 15 grams of a substance containing cocaine; and less than 50 grams of a substance containing Xanax.
