Oswego Police are seeking assistance in identifying a suspect in the investigation of a home invasion and criminal sexual assault that occurred over the weekend. On Saturday, March 16, at approximately 10:16pm, Oswego Police responded to the 0-300 block of South Adams for a report of a home invasion and criminal sexual assault that had just occurred. An adult female victim reported an unknown male had entered her residence and sexually assaulted her. The suspect left prior to police arrival. The Elgin Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in its investigation of a fatal hit-and-run incident earlier this month. On the evening of March 8th, just after 7:00pm, 35-year-old Mayra G. Mendoza was struck by a 2007 GMC and a 2018 Nissan on State Street near Airport Road. An Aurora man was found guilty in the 2020 strangling death of Natalie Jimenez, his 20-year-old girlfriend and mother of his 3-year-old child. Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie Mosser announced Friday that Getzuri Arellano, 24, was found guilty of first degree murder after a bench trial in front of David Kliment. Authorities have announced that a woman seriously injured in a collision at an Naperville Wednesday has succumbed to her injuries while in hospital. She was 88 years of age.
