A 23-year-old Aurora man was killed Thursday when his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck on Aurora’s West Side. According to a police report, the man, identified as Jackson B. Bennett, 23, of the 900 block of Old Indian Trail in Aurora, was riding his motorcycle westbound on Sunset Avenue when it collided with a pickup truck that was traveling southbound on Wilder Street just before 9:00pm Thursday evening. Bennett was flown by medical helicopter to a Chicago-area trauma hospital where he was later pronounced dead. A knife-wielding Elgin man who had threatened several people eventually barricaded himself an an apartment Wednesday, requiring the involvement of Elgin’s SWAT and Collaborative Crisis Services Unit. According to a police report, at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Elgin police were called to the area of 75 Willard Avenue where an adult male was threatening multiple individuals with a knife. As officers arrived, the subject retreated into a residence, barricading themselves inside. A Naperville man is in custody in relation to a shots fired incident in southwest Naperville early Tuesday evening. At approximately 6:15 p.m., Tuesday, multiple Naperville Police officers responded to the 2600 block of St. Albans Circle in response to reports of shots fired and an armed subject walking in the area. Through witness accounts, the scope of the search for the suspect was narrowed to the 2500 block of Durango Lane, where the suspect was taken into custody without incident.
