Following an internal investigation and a review of evidence by Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie Mosser, officers of Aurora’s Special Operations Group were cleared of any wrongdoing related to a traffic stop that involved a non-cooperative subject who was ultimately taken into custody and charged with a drug crime. Two men were hospitalized after a shooting Friday afternoon on Elgin’s east side. According to a police report, at 4:10 p.m., officers responded to the 400 block of Illinois Avenue for a reported shooting. Officers arrived on scene and located two subjects with injuries who were subsequently transported to an area hospital. Preliminary information received is that this incident appears to be isolated with no threat to the community. An autopsy by the Kane County Coroner’s office has indicated drowning as the preliminary cause of death of Kimberly Koerner, the Algonquin woman whose body was found in the Fox River Monday morning. The office is still awaiting toxicology results before issuing a final cause of death. An Algonquin woman reported missing since Sunday morning has been found dead in the Fox River, according to a police report. A Naperville man was found dead in a vehicle parked in a Bolingbrook parking lot Tuesday morning. At approximately 10:39am, Bolingbrook Police officers were dispatched to a report of suspicious circumstances in a parking lot on the 600 block of W. Boughton Rd. Upon arrival officers located a man deceased in a vehicle.   The Bolingbrook Police Investigations Division and Will County Coroner were notified and responded to the scene.
