A man was found dead Saturday near Jaycee Park in Oswego, the result of a gunshot wound to the head, according to Oswego police. At approximately 11:29 a.m., Oswego Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Saugatuck Rd for a report of an unresponsive subject. The body of an adult male was found deceased in dense brush south of Jaycee Park. On Sunday, a forensic autopsy was performed by the Kendall County Coroner’s Office which indicated that the individual had suffered a single self-inflicted gunshot wound. An Algonquin woman reported missing since Sunday morning has been found dead in the Fox River, according to a police report. Kimberly Koerner, 52, had last been seen at around 9:00am Sunday morning walking away from the Jewel Food Store at 1501 E Algonquin. Authorities had issued a plea for the public’s assistance via social media Sunday evening. A report from the Kane County Chronicle published this morning states that, according to previously unreleased police reports obtained pursuant to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request, Katelyn E. Rougas, the woman whose vehicle fatally struck Batavia’s Tammy Berke on East State Street in September, told police that “she had taken prescribed medication and had fallen asleep before the crash.” The revelation comes as the victim’s son, Sebastian Berke, has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Rougas seeking in excess of $50,000 in damages. Officers from the Aurora Police Department and the Aurora Fire Department who rescued a 9-year-old boy from drowning two weeks ago received national attention from CNN yesterday during a “Beyond The Call of Duty” segment. Just before 4:30p.m. on Wednesday, November 25, Aurora’s 911 Telecommunications Center received reports of a 9-year-old drowning. A Geneva woman has filed suit in Cook County circuit court against Massage Envy in Geneva alleging that she was sexually assaulted by a therapist with a known record of criminal activity. Christine Schirtzinger, 51, alleged that James Garrett, a licensed therapist at Massage Envy, assaulted her three times during a session on December 12, 2020. The nature of the alleged assaults involved improper touching during the massage. Garrett was charged with multiple felonies related to the incident and ended up pleading guilty to a reduced misdemeanor sexual offense charge.
