On Tuesday morning, a masked man walked into the Showplace Drive branch of Fifth-Third Bank in Naperville and held it up at gunpoint. The Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) took over the case from the Naperville Police Department shortly after the robbery was reported. According to the FBI, the suspect is a black man standing about 5-foot-9 or 5-foot-10 and weighing 170 to 175 pounds. An apparent ambush during a drug deal Sunday evening in Batavia resulted in a shots being fired and the escape vehicle crashing into a tree. On Sunday, September 19, at approximately 11:16 PM, Batavia Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Lorlyn Circle for a report of shots fired. Naperville Police are investigating a home invasion that took place Saturday that resulted in minor injuries to the resident. On Saturday, Sept. 18, at approximately 3:41 a.m., Naperville Police Officers responded to the 100 block of Whispering Hills Drive for a report of a burglary in progress.
