On Thursday evening, at approximately 8:51 p.m., officers responded to the 300 block of south Belmont St. for a report of shots fired. The very busy week for the Naperville Police Department continued with the break-in of a jewelry store on West Jefferson Street Wednesday evening. On Wednesday evening at approximately 9:57 p.m., Naperville Police officers were dispatched to investigate a reported burglary at a jewelry store located in the 0 block of West Jefferson Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the rear entrance to the business showed signs of forced entry. Officers entered the business and determined that the offenders were no longer on-scene. Naperville North High School is back to normal today after the Naperville Police Department declared the school safe yesterday afternoon. The school was closed yesterday in response to an emailed bomb threat. Naperville police issued a statement yesterday giving the all clear: “We responded to Naperville North High School at approximately 7:30 a.m. today, Sept. 22, after school administrators received an emailed bomb threat against the school. Police thoroughly searched the building and school campus with the assistance of area bomb squad personnel and dogs trained in explosives detection. No weapons or explosives were found. Oswego police are searching for a missing 13 year old male juvenile from the Oswego area. The young man was last seen at his middle school. He is approximately 5’2” and 100 lbs with a bald head and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing dark blue uniform pants, a long sleeve white shirt, and black Adidas sneakers. Elgin police are investigating a robbery by two masked gunmen this afternoon in the 800 block of Dundee Avenue. At approximately 1:36 p.m. this afternoon, officers responded to a business in the 800 block of Dundee Avenue for a report of an armed robbery. The preliminary investigation showed that two male subjects wearing masks armed with what appeared to be handguns entered the establishment and demanded money from the clerk. JB Pritzker’s latest COVID-19 executive order issued Friday. Pritzker had extended the order each month with minor to substantial revisions since March 2020.
