Taya had been reported missing on November 16th by family members. On Wednesday, at approximately 6:30 PM, Batavia Police located and safely took custody of 16-year-old Taya Russell at a residence in Sugar Grove, IL. Taya had been reported missing on November 16th by family members. Ms. Russell’s disappearance had become something of a crusade on social media, with numerous posts all around the Fox Valley alerting citizens to her plight. The accused had a very busy morning, “visiting” 7 Naperville homes and at least one vehicle. A 29 year-old Naperville man was charged Wednesday with 8 counts of burglary for an alleged marathon crime spree in the early morning hours of November 30. Authorities allege that the accused entered two homes, entered one vehicle and attempted to enter five additional homes. Through the course of their investigation, officers found miscellaneous items scattered throughout the neighborhood including a coffee maker, credit cards and an Xbox 360. A fire in Aurora Tuesday afternoon destroyed a family dwelling and resulted in the injury of a fireman and the death of the family dog. At 2:06 p.m. Tuesday, Aurora Central Dispatch dispatched a Box Alarm Structure Fire Response after receiving multiple calls for a house on fire in the 900 block of Clarendon Lane.
