Last June, East Dundee resident Devon Coleman was one of two men who shot and killed a 27 year-old Carpentersville man in what appeared to be an illegal gun deal gone bad. On Tuesday, Kane County Judge John A. Barsanti sentenced the 18-year-old Coleman to 20 years of incarceration in the Illinois Department of Corrections for the shooting death of Jordan Durr. A 49 year-old Carpentersville died Sunday morning after crashing his vehicle into a tree in unincorporated Hampshire. At approximately 4:30 AM, Kane County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the report of a single vehicle accident in the 44W300 block of US HWY 20, unincorporated Hampshire. Upon arrival, deputies found a Honda Ridgeline against a tree with a deceased male occupant inside. A Melrose Park man is the first to be charged in a drug-related joint task force operation between the Kane and DuPage County sheriff’s offices. Kane and DuPage County prosecutors allege that on Wednesday, Dec. 1, a Kane County sheriff’s deputy, assigned to the new DuKane Sheriff’s Task Force, stopped a vehicle that was eastbound on Interstate 88 near the Route 59 exit in DuPage County after observing multiple alleged traffic violations.
