Batavia Juvenile, Missing Over Two Weeks, Found Safe

On Wednesday, at approximately 6:30 PM, Batavia Police located and safely took custody of 16-year-old Taya Russell at a residence in Sugar Grove, IL. Taya had been reported missing on November 16th by family members.

Ms. Russell’s disappearance had become something of a crusade on social media, with numerous posts all around the Fox Valley alerting citizens to her plight.

Batavia Police thanked the public for the numerous tips that were reported over the past couple of weeks, and also expressed gratitude to the Sugar Grove Police Department for assistance in safely locating the juvenile.

There is no further information available at this time.
