The Great American Dog Show, hosted by The International Kennel Club of Chicago, will be held at Cantigny Park in Wheaton from Friday to Sunday, September 5-7. GADS is the premier celebration of pure bred dogs in the Midwest, and attendees can expect a family friendly fun-filled day.
The show includes a variety of events, including:
All-Breed Championship Dog Show
Hundreds of dogs from all over the country and around the world come to compete for the coveted Best in Show award. Judging each day starts at 9:00am and goes until Best in Show is awarded at about 5pm daily.
Greet The Breeds
A chance to pet and play lots of different breeds of dogs and learn more about them from experts in the breeds.
Kids Zone
Free face painting, kids’ agility and kids only dog rings.
AKC Dog Performance Demos & Expert Speakers
Cheer as dogs race around an agility course, show amazing partnership skills in obedience and scent work and perform amazing tricks. Learn from Experts as they discuss training, care, and lifesaving first aid.
Specialty Shopping
Shop for unique products for your pet in our vendor village and Great American Dog Show stores.
Healthy Dog Walk
Complete a set trail around Cantigny Park with your dog and receive a certificate and commemorative medal. ($25 to participate)

Note: Cantigny Park charges for parking in addition to the GADS ticket price. Attendees receive a discounted rate of $16/car which is payable at the gate.
