4 FOR THE WEEKEND
where Don Quixote is non-fiction…
So let’s get to it, starting with…..
Jousting At Windmills Not Allowed…
(Literacy test: Who got the references above?)
Batavia kicks off its largest party of the year today.
A party celebrating…windmills, of all things.
OK, we’re just teasing.
But it seems odd to us that a city that boasts the world’s second-largest particle accelerator focuses on a technological relic from the 1800s.
But the party is a blast.

Bottoms Up In Naperville
The whole craft beer thing has become ubiquitous over the past few years.
A guy can’t fall down drunk in the gutter without conking his head on a craft beer bottle. (We speak from experience.)
So if that’s what pops your cork, head on down to Naperville this weekend for the Ale Fest.
(We know that the phrase “pop your cork” would be more suitable to a wine tasting, but we couldn’t find a way to express the same thing using a beer can. Sorry.)

Really Love Your Peaches…
(Sorry.)
…who knows how that phrase ends?
(Hint: Steve Miller Band.)
Anyway, if you’re into peaches (or any other fruit, really), head on over to Windy Acres in Geneva for their annual Peach Festival.
(Answer: “Wanna shake your tree.” We take no responsibility for the lyrical content.)

And Finally…
🎵”I am a lineman for the county….”🎵
Gotta love some Glen Campbell.
Ok, he apparently hit some rough weather towards the end of his life (the last photo we remember was a miserable mugshot where he looked like a wino hobo), but the man was fabulously talented.
A tribute to Campbell will be playing at Geneva’s RiverPark this Sunday. Check it out.

We’ve given up on predicting the weather. The Weather Channel is always wrong. You’re on your own, folks.
If, for whatever reason, none of our fabulous four events doesn’t pop your cork, we’ll be very insulted. However, all hope is not lost. Simply go to www.foxvalleymagazine.com and check out our A+E and Events sections for other ideas.
Finally, please do us a favor. We would be eternally grateful if you could share this with some of your unsuspecting family, friends and neighbors. We’d also appreciate some love on our Facebook page (see below). Ok, technically it’s a “LIKE,” but don’t be pedantic. Also, that’s actually two favors. We’ll owe you.
Thanks for reading. Until next time…OH! One more thing. If you’re reading this via the website and would like to have this emailed to you bright and early every Friday morning, please SUBSCRIBE!
