Four for the Weekend | September 16-18, 2022

Welcome to our latest edition of Fox Valley Magazine’s

where every season is silly season.

So let’s get to it, starting with…..

    Lord, That Kid Is CUTE!

Sorry, but we can’t get over how cute the kid below is.

Any way, prepare yourselves because you’re gonna see a lot of fall festivals coming your way. ‘Tis the season, and all that.

The good news is we won’t recommend a festival we haven’t been to previously. Sonny Acres below, for instance. Checked it out last year with a wee one and it was fantastically fun.

One thing, though. Can we PLEASE lay off the pumpkin spice thing?

    Thank you.

Excuse Us, But Do You Have Any Grey Poupon?

    OK, that’s a little cliche-ish.

(Is “cliche-ish” a word? If so, is it hyphenated? We just can’t be bothered to find out.)

Anyway, if you dig fine art, what the hell are you doing reading this rag? But if you do, Naperville Riverwalk is the place to hang this weekend.

It’s also a place where you can drop some big bucks, so beware.

    Animal House Golf?

OK, so maybe that’s not fair. But it does give us an opportunity to reference one of our favorite scenes from the pinnacle of American cinema (no, not “movies” you cretin), “Animal House.”

The controversy that is the LIV Golf Tour is coming to Sugar Grove this weekend, and it looks like a hoot.

No, not the outrage over its Saudi funding, which might be a serious thing depending on your perspective.

No, we mean the unusual format, the music playing, and the general party feel the tour is trying to bring to the sport.

Might be worth a look. And remember, always try to drive through the ball.

    And Finally…

We feel almost soiled following an Animal House reference with the brilliance that is Paramount Theatre, but we’ll get over it it.

Paramount’s latest in its Broadway series is up and running. “Dreamgirls” is getting great reviews (not surprising) so give it a look.

We’ve given up on predicting the weather. The Weather Channel is always wrong. You’re on your own, folks.

If, for whatever reason, none of our fabulous four events doesn’t pop your cork, we’ll be very insulted. However, all hope is not lost. Simply go to www.foxvalleymagazine.com and check out our A+E and Events sections for other ideas.

Finally, please do us a favor. We would be eternally grateful if you could share this with some of your unsuspecting family, friends and neighbors. We’d also appreciate some love on our Facebook page (see below). Ok, technically it’s a “LIKE,” but don’t be pedantic. Also, that’s actually two favors. We’ll owe you.

Thanks for reading. Until next time…OH!  One more thing.  If you’re reading this via the website and would like to have this emailed to you bright and early every Friday morning, please SUBSCRIBE!
