Three people are in hospital with gunshot wounds after an altercation broke out at what police call a “family gathering” in unincorporated Elgin early Sunday morning. At approximately 12:01am, Kane County Shreiff’s deputies were dispatched to 8N500 block of Gingerwood Lane in unincorporated Elgin, where a gathering that included several dozen family members and guests was in progress. Shortly before shots were fired, several family members and guests got into a physical altercation outside the residence, which then moved into the house as it continued. Two men were hospitalized early this morning after the vehicle they were riding in was shot at by suspects on foot near the 600 block of Sherman Avenue in Elgin. At 3:18am today, Elgin police officers responded to the 400 block of Bowen Court for a report of a male subject who had been shot, with additional reports of shots being fired in the area of Sherman Avenue and Liberty Street. A 26-year-old Woodridge man is dead after his motorcycle crashed into an SUV Thursday evening at the intersection of Chicago Avenue and Naper Boulevard in Naperville. At approximately 9:35pm Thursday, Naperville Police Department and Naperville Fire Department personnel responded to the intersection of Chicago Avenue and Naper Boulevard for a report of a traffic crash with injuries.  Officers arrived on scene and discovered a blue 2024 Suzuki motorcycle had been involved in a crash with a grey 2024 VinFast sports utility vehicle.  The operator of the motorcycle, Dante Fields, 26, was pronounced deceased on scene after life-saving measures were attempted…

A 35-year-old Elgin man is in custody after allegedly tracking down his estranged wife to her temporary residence in Naperville and shooting through her car window, missing her by millimeters. A 29-year-old Aurora man has been sentenced to three years in prison and ordered to pay $31,500 in restitution for removing catalytic converters from more than 35 privately-owned vehicles across northern Illinois in 2021 and 2022. The announcement came today from Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul. The Attorney General’s office prosecuted Octavio Goytia who was sentenced today by Cook County Circuit Court Judge Margaret M. A 14-year-old Naperville boy has been charged for allegedly bringing a loaded semiautomatic pistol to a large teen gathering in Downtown Naperville Saturday evening. A 19-year-old Chicago man is in custody after leading Kane County Sheriff’s officers on a wild, high-speed chase down I-88 to Chicago early Monday morning. Just after midnight Monday, the Kane County Sheriff’s Office received information that a gray Infiniti with no license plates was seen driving at a high rate of speed southbound on Washington Street at Fabyan Parkway in Batavia . A South Elgin man is in custody after being arrested for illegally firing a gun outside a bar in downtown St. Charles late Tuesday evening. At approximately 11:58pm Tuesday, the St. Charles Police Department was dispatched to the 0-99 block of North 2nd Street for a report of an individual that had allegedly brandished a gun while inside “Alley 64”, a popular restaurant and bar located at 212 West Main Street. Three Aurora men are in custody charged with multiple felonies, including armed robbery and weapons charges, relation to an alleged armed robbery Monday evening. The final suspect was apprehended Thursday.
