An Aurora has agreed to a sentence of 11 years of imprisonment in the Illinois Department of Corrections in exchange for a guilty plea to the offense of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assault. Judge Julia Yetter accepted the plea.

Adolfo Garcia, 27, had previously pled guilty to Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse in 2020. After serving time in jail, he was released on probation as a registered sex offender.

According to prosecutors, between January and October, 2024, Garcia used Snapchat to connect with the minor victim who told the defendant she was 16. The victim met Garcia in person, where he provided her alcohol and marijuana and proceeded to sexually assault the victim causing pain, knowing she was under the influence and unable to give consent.

Investigators believe Garcia may have solicited other victims using social media. Anyone with information about the defendant should reach out to Investigator Ruzevich at the Kane County Child Advocacy Center.

“This defendant was a registered sex offender prior to this case who, despite being on sex offender probation at the time of the offense, continued to perpetrate on minors using social media,” said Assistant State’s Attorney Morgan Wilkinson said . “Thank you to the victim who showed courage in coming forward.”

Garcia must serve at least 85% of the sentence. In addition to the prison term, Garcia must continue to register for life as a sexual offender in accordance with the Illinois Sexual Offender Registration Act.
